Man on government's terrorist watch list caught crossing illegally into U.S. - how many others have made it through?
The border crisis that President Joe Biden created when on his first day in office he reversed all of President Donald Trump's enforcement policies, has taken a turn for the worse.
Last week, U.S. officials detained an Afghan national who is included on the U.S. terrorist watchlist, which leaves millions of Americans wondering just how many on the same list
have gotten through undetected.
According to
sources who spoke to Fox News, the Afghan national in question entered the United States by crossing the border alongside a group of migrants near Otay Mesa, California. During the regular processing conducted by Border Patrol agents, which included a fingerprint scan, it was discovered that the individual matched an entry on the Terrorist Screening Database. The worthless FBI was subsequently notified, confirmed the match, and then launched 'an investigation' into the matter, which means nothing will happen.
The individual who was apprehended crossed the border shortly before the expiration of Title 42, a COVID-19 emergency policy that allowed border agents to turn away migrants. Since the expiration of this policy, a significant influx of migrants has been observed at the U.S.-Mexico border, with thousands attempting to enter the United States, according to
Fox News.
Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), who represents the district where the Afghan national was detained, argued that President Biden's border policies, again, which were implemented on his first day in office, have attracted terrorists. Issa and other Republicans contend that these policies have contributed to a significant surge in illegal immigration, which has reached a two-year record high.
“Biden’s open borders aren’t just a gateway to five million illegals, record human and child trafficking and the deadliest drug crisis in our history,” Issa said. “Biden’s reckless policy is also an open invitation to even the most wanted terrorists in the world to come to America. They know they’ll never have to leave.
“The nation knows what’s going on, and this president has only begun to be held accountable for what he has done,” Issa added.
The administration had planned to implement a strategy to expedite the processing and release of migrants after the expiration of Title 42. However, this plan was temporarily halted by a federal judge just before it was set to take effect on Friday.
According to Fox News in a separate report, Judge T. Kent Wetherell II, appointed by former President Trump, issued a two-week restraining order on President Joe Biden's policy that would allow the release of migrants on "parole with conditions." This order temporarily prevents the implementation of the policy.
According to a memo issued by Border Patrol,
migrants can be granted entry into the United States on parole, which is typically reserved for cases involving urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benefit. This policy, referred to as "parole with conditions," is implemented in situations where Customs and Border Protection (CBP) encounters overcrowding. Under this practice, migrants are required to schedule an appointment with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) or request a Notice to Appear by mail.
“Under a parole release, migrants are rapidly released into the country, do not get an alien registration number and do not receive a court date,” Fox News noted.
After Biden's announcement last month that he intends to seek another term,
his job approval ratings have been experiencing a steady decline, which is narrowing his path to reelection. Moreover, concerns surrounding the country's escalating debt and ongoing political debates regarding raising the debt ceiling are also starting to impact his presidency. And it doesn't help him that his border policies are creating an illegal immigration and drug-overdose nightmare.
And let's not forget his and his family's endemic corruption.
If anyone really deserved to be impeached and removed from office, it's Biden.
