Globalist-parroting pope blames Western lifestyles, particularly Americans', for bringing the climate crisis to a "breaking point"
Pope Francis just proved how he favors the left cult's drive to promote fear in relation to the current "climate crisis" via his
ecology-focused encyclical, which is being called his strongest statement yet on the issue.
On Oct. 4, the Vatican released the 7,000-word new apostolic letter called "Laudate Deum," which directly translates to "Praise God." Critics agreed that Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg would be "happy" that the pope lambasted Western lifestyles and big industries that are
bringing the world to a "breaking point," pointing to Americans in particular.
According to him, it is verifiable that specific climate changes provoked by humanity are notably heightening the probability of extreme phenomena that are increasingly frequent and intense. "For this reason, we know that every time the global temperature increases by 0.5 C, the intensity and frequency of great rains and floods increase in some areas, severe droughts in others, extreme heat waves in some places, and heavy snowfall in others," the head of the Catholic Church said.
"[The] heat waves will be much more frequent and with greater intensity. If it should rise above two degrees, the icecaps of Greenland and a large part of Antarctica will melt completely, with immensely grave consequences for everyone."
With these, Francis pointed out that the world is collapsing and may be nearing the breaking point. The pontiff wrote: "Some effects of the climate crisis are already irreversible, at least for several hundred years, such as the increase in the global temperature of the oceans, their acidification and the decrease of oxygen."
Globalists, environmental advocates and the mainstream media are lauding the pope for his statement, and are also denouncing those who do not believe in the
climate change scam. (Related: MSM receives billions of dollars from globalists
to fabricate coordinated, fearmongering-based climate change propaganda pretending to be "news.")
"Despite all attempts to deny, conceal, gloss over, or relativize the issue, the signs of climate change are here and increasingly evident. No one can ignore the fact that in recent years we have witnessed extreme weather phenomena, frequent periods of unusual heat, drought, and other cries of protest," Francis wrote, adding that ignoring the accelerating climate change process will only advance "the probability of extreme phenomena that are increasingly frequent and intense."
He was also after the U.S. and the Americans, criticizing them in particular while appearing to give China somewhat of a pass: "If we consider that emissions per individual in the United States are about two times greater than those of individuals living in China and about seven times greater than the average of the poorest countries, we can state that a broad change in the irresponsible lifestyle connected with the Western model would have a significant long-term impact."
His statement is a follow-up to his 2015 pontifical writing titled "Laudato Si" (Praised Be To You), which has been a "cornerstone of his papacy." It also came ahead of the UN COP28 climate conference, which starts at the end of November in Dubai, where countries will undergo a "global stocktake" to assess how quickly they are progressing towards climate goals.
Woke Pope is open to blessing same-sex unions
Meanwhile, reports revealed earlier this week that conservative Catholics have been frustrated by Pope Francis' "liberal" yet vague statements which make the church depart from longtime doctrine. Some traditional Catholics are warning that his agenda is to 'revolutionize' the Vatican in a decidedly leftward direction.
The latest one is that he said he would be open to having the Catholic Church bless same-sex couples when asked by a group of cardinals for clarity on the issue. His answer was that any request for a blessing should be treated with "pastoral charity.” "We cannot be judges who only deny, reject, and exclude."
In the Catholic Church, a blessing is a prayer or plea, usually delivered by a minister, asking for God to look favorably on the person or people being blessed.
BBC reported that bishops in a number of countries, including Belgium and Germany, have begun to allow priests to
bless same-sex couples, but the position of Church authorities remained unclear. "Pastoral prudence must adequately discern whether there are forms of blessing, requested by one or more persons, that do not convey a mistaken concept of marriage," he said. To others, this meant that blessing should be case-by-case basis and should not necessarily become a norm.
However, the pope may have forgotten that as recently the spring of 2021, he approved a decree from the Vatican's doctrinal office forbidding priests from blessing same-sex unions. He also stressed that such partnerships are sinful and as such could not be blessed. Earlier this year, when Pope Francis talked of homosexuality not being a crime, he still talked of it as being a sin. Conservatives are now confused about the pontiff's real stance on this issue.
