The Reality Camp with Stacey Campfield: NFL promoting racism with Super Bowl LVII opening, halftime shows – Brighteon.TV
Stacey Campfield of "The Reality Camp" pointed out that
the NFL had been promoting racism during the opening and halftime shows of Super Bowl LVII.
"I'm starting to think the NFL's plan is not to end racism, but to promote it because that's what the whole thing was," he said during the Feb. 16 episode of his
Brighteon.TV program. "It was promotion of racism, promotion of one race over another. [It's like] saying, 'Well, these people are better, more entitled or more deserving because of their race or the color of their skin.'"
"They are pushing this stuff sort of makes us go backwards. I'm really thinking we're going in the wrong direction, in the opposite direction."
Campfield,
a former state lawmaker with stints in both houses of the Tennessee General Assembly, noticed parallels going through the game, pre-show, halftime and after-show that struck him while watching.
The first thing that made him stop and think was the singing of "Lift Every Voice and Sing," which was sung by actress Sheryl Lee Ralph of "Abbott Elementary" fame. According to
Billboard, the actress made history
by being the first Black person to perform the said anthem during the sporting event.
According to Campfield, the so-called "Black national anthem" made him think what nation the NFL represented. He continued that the professional football league was trying to go through the whole woke road and make it work out. (Related:

Campfield: NFL probably one of the least woke groups
The
Brighteon.TV host also pointed to Ralph's backup singers who all wore white. This made him wonder if Americans are going down the same road Congress went through during the Trump administration where people were wearing white to show solidarity against ending voter discrimination.
"If you talk about wokeness, the NFL is probably one of the least woke groups even though they are trying to present themselves as woke. But if you look at what they really are, it is sort of backwards," Campfield said.
The "Reality Camp" host also mentioned a special by the league, which highlighted the first time two Black quarterbacks facing off in the Super Bowl. According to Campfield, Americans do not need to discuss things through the lens of race because nobody cares at the end of the day.
Aside from this, Campfield remarked that the Super Bowl halftime show that featured pop singer Rihanna – who was pregnant – was critically panned. Even former President Donald Trump
could not help but criticize her performance as "epic fail" and "the single worst halftime show in Super Bowl history."
The "Reality Camp" host could not help but wonder if the NFL has indeed gone woke.
He concluded his show by mentioning that there is a ton of great stories in the NFL that feature people of all races. A great athlete at the peak of their profession did not get to where they are
because of their skin or race, Campfield said, but through the greatness of their ability.
"That's the way it needs to be and that's the way it should be."
